Gabi passed away in March of 2009 due to a rare bone / blood disease called Hemangiosarcomas

It is quite rare in the Rottweiler breed, and not known if it is genetic. There are no tests for this disease, to either test a breeding male or female and determine if they will be carriers. As well, there is no test you can do for a puppy or adult dog until they actually have this disease. Causes are not clear either, as relationship to diet, spaying or neutering, inoculations, water, certain pedigrees.

Gabi only lived 2 weeks after being diagnozed. We had her put to sleep, as the oncologist, said there was nothing we could do, that would take away her pain and suffering.

Rest in Peace Gabi

Testimonial from a previous puppy buyer

My wife and I are proud owners of a 13 week old male Rottweiler named
Reggie that we purchased from Don French.

I'd always wanted a Rottweiler and I did my research before I purchased
him. I was looking mainly for a reputable breeder and we definitely found
a great breeder in Don. A woman that I used to work with who is a dog
trainer herself referred me to Don as she had only heard good things about
the dogs he produced. I contacted Don and he came to our house and held a
pretty comprehensive interview with my wife and I to see if we were
appropriate candidates to raise a Rottweiler. He also gave us alot of
material to help educate us about Rottweilers. Both my wife and I had a
good feeling about Don right away.

My wife and I have been taking Reggie to puppy training with Don for the
last 5 weeks now and he is doing great. He is very outgoing and he just
loves other people and dogs. We've had no problems at all with his
temperament. He's just a huge suck! It's unbelievable how smart this breed
really is. Reggie is responding very well to training both in his classes
and at home. I believe this is because Don is a terrific teacher as well
as being a great breeder. Don included this puppy training with our
purchase of Reggie and I thought that was an amazing bonus. We will be
attending our last week of training this Saturday but we have already
decided that we will be continuing to train him in Dons classes.

Don has also taken a very active interest in the health of the dogs he
produces. Reggie's health has been great but I know Rottweilers can suffer
from several diseases and ailments. Don has guaranteed the health of our
dog. Which means if Reggie comes down with a sudden heart problem or he
contracts hip dysplasia then Don will cover the cost of the dog. That is a
breeder that stands by the quality of dogs he produces!

There are so many reasons why my wife and I think Don is a great breeder,
trainer and all around person. I've only spoke about a few but I've only
known Don for about 6 months now. I'm sure as we get to know him better
we'll have alot more positive things to say about him.

I would just like to finish by saying that it's nice to see a
breeder/trainer take such an incredible interest in his dogs. I guarantee
that we will always go to Don for training and for any other dogs we
decide to get in the future.

Sincerely,

Derrick Bryce & Tonya Morin
